Exhibition Statement.

Artists and the everyday gardener are remarkably similar in which they both continuously tend to their craft and seek new opportunities to grow. Gardening requires a certain amount of dedication and patience to flourish, and it is important to take these qualities and apply them to our everyday lives.

In Full Bloom is an exploration of personal artistic growth and the serene beauty of botanical gardens. The depiction of plant life in each piece reflects my interpretation of nature. Just like the delicateness of blooming seedlings, the combination of glass and origami reflects natures mindfulness and grace. Similar to the bizarreness of venus fly traps, nature can also be surreal and whimsical. Drawing inspiration from earlier art movements such as Surrealism and Rococo, my paintings include the “artist” who is catering to nature.

As you wander through the gallery, I invite you to reflect on the connections between these artworks and your own experiences of growth and change. May they be an inspiration to your own creative journey and be a reminder to continue to bloom.
